Smile Sports To Provide Safe Play Spaces

Smile Sports: Building Healthy Kids and Communities through Safe Play Spaces.

Our mission is to provide children with safe places to play while promoting lifelong wellness.
We unite communities to:
  • Build Safe Courts: Ensure every child has access to a secure place for physical activity.
  • Host Engaging Sports Camps: Encourage active lifestyles through fun, organized sports.
  • Provide Health Education: Integrate essential nutrition and oral health programs into all our activities.

Smile Sports is a registered United States 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Our Current Programs

Philippines Basketball Camp in Pampanga, Mabalacat

Mabalacat Basketball Camp
Our initial Philippines program took place November 22, 2025 in Pampanga.  The first Philippines program included a Free basketball camp collaboration that united three local elementary schools, multiple top youth coaches and programs, community leaders, dental professionals and teachers with area kids in need of opportunities.  We are very grateful for the opportunity to use the Sta. Ines MJM court and hope to return someday in the future to enhance the facility and continue to build more opportunities for local youth.

Smile Sports Camps For Healthy Communities

Dr. Ethel Alfaro Smile Sports

Smile Sports Community Camps offer a fun and inclusive environment where boys and girls can learn and play in a safe environment. Designed for all ages and talent levels, our camps combine engaging sports activities with expert-led oral health education programs. These sessions teach vital lessons in nutrition and cavity prevention, promoting lifelong healthy habits.

Smile Sports Gift Bags

Smile Sports provided gift bags to all attending campers including tooth brushes and floss.  Smile Sports hopes to collaborate with additional oral health companies into the future to provide basic oral hygiene products for the kids at camps.

Mentorship

Our youth camps foster a strong local leadership focus by creating mentorship opportunities for older youth.  When we host camps for younger kids (typically ages 10-13), we invite older athletes (16U and 18U teams) to serve as mentors. By assisting coaches and teaching fundamentals, these young leaders become positive role models and often learn valuable lessons themselves by teaching others.
As a reward for their dedication, we provide the older mentors with elite practice sessions, skill development clinics, and guidance on opportunities that extend beyond basketball.  Additionally we will look to enhance our mentor programs safe play areas in the future.

Restoring Courts, Building Communities

Sta. Ines MJM Court
We work closely with local schools and youth programs to understand their specific needs. Our Travel Teams later return to communities to help restore dilapidated courts and provide new equipment through our sponsorship partners to provide safe play spaces. We firmly believe a healthy court is essential for robust programs that foster healthy living for every child and community member.

Bringing the Experience to Life with Travel Teams

Our U.S. College Travel Teams don't just play elite games; they create unforgettable connections. At our partner camps, youth participants get the unique opportunity to interact with college players, fostering close connections before, during, and after our games.  Our travel teams also get to collaborate with local community leaders in order to build safe sport areas.

We are thrilled to announce a planned trip to the Philippines in 2026. This trip will combine our youth camp programs with vital court restoration projects and showcase exciting games in Pampanga, Manila, Palawan, and possibly Cebu. As we grow, we hope to serve many more provinces and invite you to share suggestions for future program locations.
