Packed, Ready, and Protected from the Elements
The countdown has officially hit the final stretch. The Smile Sports headquarters is packed to the ceiling travel bags and boxes. We are officially ready to embark on the grueling 21-hour flight to the Philippines, carrying hundreds of custom team t-shirts, premium pediatric toothbrushes, cavity-fighting toothpastes, and educational visual sand timers.
Operating an international pop-up camp leaves zero room for error. Our tight logistical timeline gives us exactly one single day between landing at the airport and blowing the first whistle on the court. Our ground helpers, alongside coaches Ty and Milo, have assured us that the schools are coordinated, the registration scorecards are printed, and the kids are eager to play.
When running outdoor youth programs in the Philippines, the tropical climate is always the great unpredictable variable. The region is known for sudden, intense shifts between blistering heat and torrential monsoon downpours. This is exactly why securing the St. Ines MJM Covered Court was our top infrastructure priority. Having a structural steel roof protecting our court means that no matter what the weather throws at us, our volunteer dentists, coaches, and 80 youth campers will remain completely safe, dry, and cool.
